| Summary, etc. | La historia del Isoso (departamento de Santa Cruz, Bolivia) también es la de sus etno-historias, la de la utilización y de las diferentes reconstrucciones de su pasado histórico por parte de los isoseños contemporáneos. Centrado en la historia política de la capitanía isoseña, y utilizando tanto materiales orales como documentos de archivos muy poco conocidos, este libro pone un énfasis especial en el siglo XIX, a la vez época de la conquista real de la zona y de la gestación de sus políticas actuales. Su eje conductor es el concepto de iyambae, "sin dueño", hoy tema central del discurso político, quintaesencia de la identidad isoseña, refrán y clave de la legitimación política histórica. Otros temas recurrentes son la herencia chané (arawak) del Isoso, y el cuestionamiento de su pertenencia al conjunto étnico chiriguano o guaraní de Bolivia. |
