Les nombreux lingots provenant en particulier d’épaves sous-marines sont porteurs d’une riche épigraphie qui intéresse tant le domaine de la production que celui de la commercialisation du métal. Pour la première fois, cette documentation est réunie dans un ouvrage et abondamment commentée, croisant sources littéraires, épigraphiques, archéologiques et archéométriques. Importante región minera, la Hispania romana fue la principal exportadora de plomo al Mediterráneo entre los siglos ii a.C. y i d.C. Los numerosos lingotes hallados, sobre todo en pecios submarinos, contienen abundante material epigráfico sobre la producción y comercialización de este metal. Por primera vez, toda esta documentación se reúne en un libro acompañada de amplios comentarios, combinando fuentes literarias, epigráficas, arqueológicas y arqueométricas.
