| Summary, etc. | Cet ouvrage propose un bilan des acquis archéologiques depuis les années 1980, pour la période des ve-xe siècles en Haute-Normandie, dans les domaines suivants : occupation du sol, habitat urbain et rural, activités agricoles et artisanales, mobilier, sites funéraires et religieux, lieux de pouvoir et échanges. Archéologie expérimentale et présentation au public sont également abordés. La production métallurgique, la céramique et les monnaies sont traitées par des spécialistes de ces questions. Chaque chapitre thématique comporte un inventaire commenté des sites, un état de la méthodologie et des connaissances ; il s'achève par des perspectives de gestion du patrimoine archéologique et de recherche. Les figures, abondantes, incluent de nombreux éléments inédits. This work proposes an overview of archaeological ddiiss coveries since the 1980s for the period between the 5th and 10th centuries in the following areas: land occupation, urban and rural dwellings, agriculture and handicraft, furniture, burial and religious sites, places of authority and trade. Experimental archaeology and public outreach are also included. Metalwork, ceramics and currency are discussed by specialists. Each themed chapter includes an analytical list of sites and information on methodology and knowledge. The work concludes with the outlook for archaeological heritage management and research. The many figures include a large number of previously unpublished elements. |
