| Summary, etc. | Michel Foucault voyait dans la distinction du vrai et du faux un grand « principe de raréfaction » des discours, participant de leur contrôle et de leur assujettissement en instaurant le grand partage de la raison et de la folie. Mais jusqu’à récemment, pour principe d’exclusion qu’il fût, le vrai ne laissait pas, dans l’ordre de la raison, et sur ses territoires, de jouer encore un rôle fédérateur. Or, il semblerait qu’aujourd’hui, ce pouvoir fédérateur du vrai soit relégué au rang des illusions métaphysiques. Des fake news aux « faits alternatifs », des bidonnages médiatiques aux thèses complotistes, tout se donne pour « vrai », comme si le vrai n’était plus qu’une bannière que chacun brandit pour défendre « sa » vérité. D’où une défiance généralisée, envers les médias, les institutions démocratiques, la science même. Alors du vrai faut-il faire table rase ? Ou se résigner à n’y voir qu’une affaire de préférence ? Pas pour les auteurs réunis ici, philosophes, anthropologues, spécialistes des sciences de la communication, qui endossent la posture du théoricien ou celle de l’enquêteur de terrain. Pragmaticiens de formation ou d’obédience, ils s’efforcent, par l’analyse de situations ou d’objets divers et parfois inattendus, de mettre au jour les conditions et contraintes structurelles, conventionnelles, contextuelles, relationnelles, à l’œuvre dans la promotion d’un discours « vrai ». |
