| Summary, etc. | Dans la seconde moitié du xixe siècle, Ernest Hamy joua en France un rôle clef dans l'émergence de disciplines nouvelles aussi diverses que l’anthropologie, l’archéologie, l’histoire et la muséologie. Ses découvertes de terrain comme ses travaux scientifiques marquèrent leur temps et leur réputation dépassa les frontières nationales.Les auteurs analysent les circonstances qui accompagnent la trajectoire exceptionnelle du savant, de sa ville natale, Boulogne-sur-Mer, carrefour culturel secondaire mais dynamique de l’époque, à Paris, où il fonda le musée d’ethnographie du Trocadéro. Homme de réseau, il contribua activement à la circulation des biens matériels et immatériels, entre France et Amérique notamment, et participa activement à la création de sociétés savantes et de revues. L’actualité de ses ouvrages codicologiques et historiques est abordée, car Hamy a inspiré des générations de chercheurs, dont les publications reposent sur des matériaux qu’il a édités ou sur des thématiques qu’il a contribué à « défricher ». In the second half of nineteenth century, Ernest Hamy from Boulogne-sur-Mer played a key-role in France in the development of new disciplines such as Anthropology, Archaeology, History and Museology. His discoveries and his varied works and miscellaneous, marked his tie and their reputation well beyond national borders. |
